Counselling
If you have a problem in your life at present that is causing you distress, anxiety or worry then Counselling is something that might be useful for you. You might be experiencing low mood, sadness or lack of confidence.
Counselling involves talking to a trained professional who provides a safe and respectful listening space where you can explore whatever is causing difficulty in your life.
I will listen to you and support you with finding the underlying causes of the problem and the steps that might be helpful in order to solve it. By looking at the cause of the problem, rather than just the surface of it, you are far more likely to bring about lasting change in your life.
Some of the problems you might be dealing with could be:
- Relationship difficulties
- Problems with work
- Low mood
- Anxiety about something that is currently happening in your life
- Panic Attacks
- Grief/Loss/Bereavement
- Stress
- Self-Doubt
- Loss of Confidence
- Work difficulties
- Family problems
- Bullying issues
- Social anxiety
Talking about your difficulties with someone who is skilled, empathic, non judgemental and understanding can be very beneficial. It can lift a burden from your shoulders. It can reassure you that your feelings are normal. It can help you to find ways of looking at the problem that can lessen it’s impact on you. It can help you to work out how to solve the problem or improve things for yourself. It can help you feel more content and resourceful.
If you decide to come for Counselling we will arrange an introductory session where we will explore the problem together and discuss any questions you might have. The sessions are usually weekly and last for one hour. We will evaluate regularly to ensure that things are improving and that your life is progressing in accordance with your goals.
